Helsinki Whiskey Rye Malt Release #4 is our first release matured in regular size casks. It is a vatting of two barrels, chosen by Master Blender Kai Kilpinen. They are 200 litre made with virgin American oak with a char level #3. They give the whiskey a beautiful golden colour and add balanced notes of vanilla and caramel. The whiskey has been matured for at least three years.
Release consists of 740 individually numbered bottles. Release date was 16.4.2018.
Vanilla and toffee from the oak cask, malted rye and freshly baked rye loaf from the distillate. Malts and dark chocolate.
Rich mouthfeel. Aroma has notes of vanilla, dried apricots, caramel, licorice, herbs, coffee and cocoa. Malted barley balances the sweetness.
Long, it lingers on the insides of the cheeks. Spiciness of rye whiskey is evident
