Helsinki Whiskey Rye Malt Release #4 is a single barrel release chosen by Master Blender Kai Kilpinen. Cask used, n:o 94, is a 200-litre virgin American oak barrel with a char level #3. The whiskey has been matured for at least three years. Release consists of 416 individually numbered bottles. Release date was 15.6.2018.
Vanilla and dark toffee from the oak, malted rye and freshly baked rye loaf from the distillate. Citrus notes and pineapple.
Rich mouthfeel. Aroma has notes of vanilla, fresh pineapple and apricots, caramel, licorice, herbs, coffee and dark chocolate. Malted barley and oak balance the sweetness.
Long, it lingers on the insides of the cheeks. Spiciness of rye whiskey is mixed with sweet citrusy flavours.
