Amorphis Whiskey Rye Malt
The Helsinki Distilling Company has created a whiskey worthy of the genre-defining Finnish progressive metal band Amorphis and its fans.
Amorphis Whiskey is a mellow Finnish rye malt whiskey. It is made using only the best Finnish malted rye and barley. Small batch distillation and maturation in hand selected casks guarantee a balanced and velvety taste with a hint of smoke.
As a guarantee of quality every numbered bottle comes with the signature of Master Distiller Mikko Mykkänen and Master Blender Kai Kilpinen.
Amorphis is a cornerstone of Finnish metal and one of Finland’s most internationally respected bands. Founded in 1990, the group quickly gained global recognition and has released multiple acclaimed albums, performed at major metal festivals, and toured worldwide.
Releases
The mash bill for the whiskey consists of 70% malted rye and 30% malted barley. The whiskey is distilled by hand and matured in selected casks. Casks used in Amorphis Whiskey are ex-bourbon, ex-Oloroso Sherry and Ex-Laphroaig casks. Casks are selected by Master Blender Kai Kilpinen with the inspiration coming from the band members. Bottled at 47,5% ABV. Limited first release consists of 2000 individually numbered bottles.

Nose
Fruit notes from the Sherry mix with rye sweetness and a hint of peaty smoke aroma.
Flavor
Rich, fruity mouthfeel. Aroma has notes of sweet and spicy rye, vanilla, dried fruits, herbal notes, dark chocolate and light salty peat smoke. Sweet sherry elements are balanced by malts and smoke.
Aftertaste
Long spicy ryeness lingers on the insides of the cheeks. Fruitcake and cocoa.
